The Story:

Also called Kamias in other parts of the Philippines, the iba is a very sour fruit that grows year round. Because of its sourness it is sometimes used in sour soup recipes like sinigang, or particularly linarang, a fish soup.

The Fruits of the Philippines is a collection of popular Filipino fruits, including mango, guava, makopa, and more! Each little fruit is inspired by traditional folktales about each fruit’s origin. Read them here.

Each piece is handwoven by yours truly using tiny glass beads. It took me nearly 6 months to perfect each fruit, as I really wanted to get the proportions of our native fruits just right. This collection is a labor of love, and my way of sharing Filipino stories with the world.

Size:
4 cm drop.

Materials:
Glass seed beads, waxed thread, stainless steel posts and backs. Stainless steel findings make these safe for sensitive ears.
